Auto-hold brakes
With the auto-hold brake function (Hold), the driver can release the brake pedal and the brakes will remain applied, for example, when the vehicle has stopped at a traffic light.
Activating Hold
Depress the brake pedal when the vehicle is stationary to activate Hold. The function is always available while driving and works at any gradient.
To activate Hold, make sure that
- the driver's seat belt is buckled and/or the driver's door is closed
- gear selector position D or R is selected.
Deactivating Hold
The function is released when the driver presses the accelerator pedal with a gear position selected.
Note
Hold is also deactivated when the driver moves the gear selector to Neutral position.
The parking brake is applied automatically
- if the driver removes their seat belt and/or opens the driver's door.
- if the function has been active for longer than 10 minutes.
